About Us
Located in the heart of Christchurch CBD, 231 High Street is a 600 sqm community-driven event, co-working, and studio space designed to be accessible and flexible. Our mission is to keep the barrier to entry low, ensuring no red tape stands in the way of your creative and professional endeavours. We operate like a Lean Canvas, adapting agilely to meet the unique needs of our organisers and members.
Versatile Event Space
On weekends and evenings, 231 High Street transforms into a dynamic event space capable of hosting gatherings ranging from intimate meetups to events with hundreds of attendees. Notably, in June, Doc Edge utilised our venue for their Christchurch mission control command centre and VR exhibition during the Matariki weekend. We regularly host events like the Later in Life Innovators Meetup, AI Meetup, Data Science Meetup, and more recently, the Mobile Developers Meetup and OWASP Meetup. Additionally, organisations such as Sustainable Construction, Aerospace New Zealand, and Ecan have leveraged our space for various events this year.
Co-Working Community
From Monday to Friday, between 9 am and 5 pm, 231 High Street offers co-working options tailored to your needs, including daily hot-desking, weekly co-working, and permanent co-working solutions. Our space provides a welcoming environment where you can enjoy the comforts of home while benefiting from the sense of community, organic networking, and collaborative atmosphere our co-workers cherish.
Studio Services
We are excited to announce that Dark Matter has recently moved in, offering their studio facilities for hire through 231 High Street. Whether you need a space for recording or photography, this service will soon be available to the public as we finalise the details.
